Torquay’s oldest Inn (circa 1540), situated in the middle of town just off the harbour. The name goes back to a time when the sea actually lapped against the walls, where smugglers used to meet! The pub is friendly and quirky. You can either have a pub meal or book a table in the restaurant which has a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The food here is good in the pub or in their restaurant, with a selection of fish, steak, lamb shanks and calves liver etc., along witha selection of desserts. Great selection of beers/cider and the wine list is good too at reasonable prices. A good place to eat and we would suggest you book a table if possible, in the gallery, as this is very popular. However, the best attraction here is the‘Live Music’on a Sunday, Tuesday & Thursday (all music tastes are catered for). Drew Millen and his gang are most definitely worth a visit.

On a nice evening it’s good to walk down; it’s just off the main town centre up a cobbled street. This is a favourite of ours and all our guests who have been here have loved it.
